Undergraduate Research & Honors Programs
The Nutritional Science Honors Program begins in the junior year. Admissions are by recommendation of the department based on the student’s cumulative GPA (3.4 or above) and academic performance. Participation in the program involves completion of five honors courses including a senior thesis. It allows students to become more closely involved in current departmental research and offers the possibility of initiating their own independent studies.
Non-honors students are also encouraged to seek participation in current research studies. Faculty in the department take undergraduate students for an independent study. Students who are interested in conducting research should contact the faculty of their interest to discuss research opportunities. Faculty research areas are available here.
